Somatic Sex Coaching
Somatic sex coaching is about changing habits from within. Practitioners use coaching tools and models so that clients develop awareness of what they are experiencing, where they want change, what they want more of, and how to get there. Working with the emotional, relational, psychological and physical aspects of clients, somatic sex coaches train clients to harness neuroplasticity through intentional practice.
Somatic Sex Coaching is a fully clothed modality, that does not require touch between practitioners and clients. We work within the Code of Professional Conduct for Somatic Non-Erotic Touch Practitioners.
SEXOLOGICAL BODYWORK
Sexological Bodywork practitioners are somatic sex educators, supporting individuals, couples and groups to learn to direct their own erotic development, learn about their bodies, sex and sexuality, and work through sexual issues or concerns. They aim to empower their students, through touch practices and different coaching and teaching methods to live more fully in their bodies.
Although touch may be used as one of the educational modalities, Sexological Bodyworkers are not a new type of massage therapist. They are certified sexologists focusing on education.
Interactive Erotic Education
Interactive Erotic Educators are somatic sex practitioners and coaches who utilize their body as a tool to help clients learn and heal through exploration and play. They employ a client-centred approach to promote empowerment and support, working with individuals, couples, people in alternative relationships, and groups. This modality uses somatic inquiry and experiential learning to deepen the client’s understanding, sensitivity, and consciousness regarding their bodies, sexuality, and sexual matters, while also addressing any related challenges or concerns they may have. Practitioners have knowledge, skills, values, and ethical foundations for practicing two-way touch and working within an educational erotic framework.
Interactive Erotic Somatic Sex Education is an approach that provides integrated support for clients, empowering them with knowledge about agency, pleasure, and play. Sessions involve practicing relational and somatic skills with a professional who is experienced, non-judgmental, grounded, and authentic.
Embodied Counselling
Embodied Counselling is a somatic approach to counselling that integrates felt experiences and embodiment tools, into the counselling process. Embodied Counselling Practitioners are equally interested in what their clients are feeling and experiencing through their bodies, as they are about what their clients think, and what they have to say.
In order to integrate the body’s experiences into the counselling process, Embodied Counselling Practitioners are skilled in coaching clients to access and develop embodiment. It is a client-centred, co-created approach, that seeks to harness the real-time information the body has about its experience of living in the world, empowering people to take charge of their process, as well as developing somatic skills that support informed and vibrant living.
Embodied Counselling Practitioners work within the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Somatic Non-Erotic Touch Practitioners, within the SSEAA. They have completed a minimum of 220 training hours, 42 client hours and 14 supervision hours, within their training.
